Tina Chilip has worked Off-Broadway at Classic Stage Company, Signature Theatre, Fiasco Theater, Playwrights Realm, Ma-Yi Theatre, National Asian American Theatre Company, and Pan Asian Repertory Theatre. Regionally she has performed at The Old Globe, Huntington Theatre Company, The Guthrie Theatre, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Portland Center Stage, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Berkeley Repertory Theater, Syracuse Stage, Trinity Rep, Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival and others.
She has garnered an IRNE Best Actress nomination for her performance in after all the terrible things I do by A. Rey Pamatmat at the Huntington Theatre. She also received a Philstage citation for Best Female Lead Performance for her work as Second Wife in David Henry Hwang's Golden Child, at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.
Born and raised in the Philippines, Chilip is Chinese-Filipino and speaks English, Tagalog and Hokkien Chinese fluently. She also speaks a little Mandarin, and can get by conversationally if accompanied with elaborate hand gestures.
Outside of acting, she has worked as an analyst in a management consulting company, a producer for a publishing company, PR and marketing for a mobile technology company, and was a teaching artist for several theater companies in the San Francisco Bay Area.
She received her MFA from the Brown University/Trinity Rep graduate acting program and currently resides in New York City.
